What is Alert Solano?

The Alert Solano system enables first responder agencies within Solano County to provide people who opt-in with critical information quickly in a variety of situations, including:

  • Severe weather or smoke information

  • Unexpected road/bridge closures

  • Missing persons

  • Evacuation orders

  • Floods and other natural disasters

As of March 2022, there are 1,556 subscribers out of 13,517 Rio Vista-based telephones opted into the Alert Solano emergency notification system.

How to Sign Up

By going to www.alertsolano.com on a web-enabled cellular device or computer, Rio Vista residents and workers can subscribe to alerts for any or all communities in Solano County.  The subscription is free.  Messaging rates may apply to subscribers based on their respective cellular subscription plans.

When subscribers create their accounts, they will be prompted to enter contact information. A subscriber may even choose to receive email alerts only, but this method is not recommended since a subscriber can easily miss out of crucial information.

Rio Vista only utilizes Public Safety alerts; however, the system has the capability for additional community messaging if the subscriber desires. For example, you can receive alerts from agencies servicing any or all of these areas which include but not limited to the following:

  • Your home and work address
  • Your children's home and school addresses
  • Your spouse's work address
  • Your parent(s) home address

City of Vacaville subscribers may elect to receive other alerts for public events, and City of Vallejo subscribers may opt-in for Participatory Budgeting alerts. Those who subscribe to the County of Solano alerts may also opt-in for Weather Watches and Notifications.

How to Stop Receiving Alerts

A subscriber can stop receiving alerts by removing their contact information from their profile.
