The Rio Vista Police Department is a dynamic and proactive municipal policing agency provided by the Solano County Sheriff’s Office via contract. The Rio Vista Police Department provides professional and effective police service to Rio Vista’s 10,500 residents as well as thousands of annual visitors.

In addition to patrol and investigative services, the Rio Vista Police Department utilizes a police canine, "Rio," and a motor unit. The Sheriff's Office provides additional as-needed services, such as Homeless Resources, Crisis Negotiations, SWAT, Auto Theft investigators, and major crimes detectives.

The City of Rio Vista, located in the southeast corner of Solano County, is a unique community, enjoying the benefits of rural surroundings while being centrally located between the population of centers of Fairfield, Lodi, and Brentwood.  The Police Department enjoys tremendous support from the community and it provides residents and visitors alike with thorough patrol and investigative services. The Police Department participates in numerous community outreach programs and events that foster a sense of security and safety for those living and visiting here.
