The City of Rio Vista is now accepting applications for the position of Community Services Officer in the Police Department.
This is a full-time, benefited position, with a monthly salary range from $4,016 to $4,881, and represented by Office & Professional Employees International Union, Local 29 (OPEIU).
Community Services Officer ("CSO") is an ideal entry-level position for someone interested in a non-sworn position in a law enforcement environment. CSO responsibilities vary from community outreach and social media communications to processing forensic evidence, traffic control, parking and code enforcement, and non-enforcement police patrol support. The work week is a mix of being in the office and being out and about in the community.

CSOs typically work a 9/80 schedule during regular business hours; some overtime on evenings and/or weekends may be necessary for special events.
Candidates are required to pass a comprehensive background check, including a Voice Stress Analysis (VSA) test and physical/medical/psychological examination. They must also be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs., work in inclement weather, and work in potentially hazardous situations (e.g., directing traffic on SR-12).
