Greenwaste Recycling

Greenwaste is biodegradable waste that can be composed of garden or park waste, such as grass or flower cuttings, leaves and hedge trimmings.  Each year, greenwaste ends up in the streets and when water is added to the mix, it ends up clogging the storm drains which then back up and can cause flooding.

In order to help mitigate this issue, the City has a greenwaste recycle bin located at the City's Public Works Corporation Yard at 789 Saint Francis Way.  The hours of operation are Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Acceptable greenwaste items are yard trimmings, grass clippings, flowers, weeds, leaves, and tree prunings which need to be cut in 4 ft. lengths and 18 inches in diameter.

Items that are not accepted include food waste, ashes, pet waste, household trash, dirt, sod, rocks and hazardous waste.
