General Information

Accessibility

All buses are equipped with passenger lifts for mobility devices and meets the ADA requirements. Lifts can only accommodate passengers and mobility devices that do not exceed 600 pounds combined or the size of a standard wheelchair. We recommend that all mobility devices have a working brake system. Not all bus stops are safe for deployment of the lift. If you have question about accessibility of a particular stop, please call.

As a courtesy to riders with mobility limitations, priority seating has been designated at the front of each bus. Your cooperation in yielding these seats to mobility-limited riders, the seniors and persons with disabilities is appreciated.

The bus operator will assist seniors and person with disabilities on boarding the bus or provide assistance to the door of the person’s home, upon request.

ADA Paratransit

Priority service for ADA certified paratransit passengers is available for those passengers that have a disability who cannot access or board a public transit bus due to their disability. In order to use this service you will need to fill out a Rio Vista Delta Breeze Paratransit Eligibility Application. Once you have been certified, you may ride request Rio Vista Delta Breeze routes to deviate from your origin point to your destination point within the city limits of Isleton, Rio Vista, Antioch, Fairfield, Suisun City and within a ¾ mile boundary of the route in unincorporated Sacramento, Contra Costa and Solano Counties. Transfers to Vallejo Runabout, Fairfield and Susiun Transit DART, Tri Delta Transit Dial-A-Ride paratransit providers are available. Travel Aide Assistance

Delta Breeze provides FREE travel aide assistance on Rio Vista Delta Breeze for passengers that need assistance when traveling to Lodi, Antioch, Suisun City and Fairfield on Delta Breeze and SCT/LINK.

If you have a need for assistance when traveling to Lodi, Antioch, Suisun City and Fairfield, call Delta Breeze Dispatch  at 707.374.2878 one day in advance to request travel aide assistance.  The travel aide will ride with you to Lodi, Antioch, Suisun City and Fairfield using Delta Breeze and SCT/LINK and provide personalized assistance.  The service is available Monday-Friday between 8:00 am and 2:45 pm only.

A travel aide can assist you with shopping, getting you to medical and social services appointments and connecting with other transit systems that are beyond the reaches of Delta Breeze.

Bus/Train To Delta Breeze Hold Policy

A Rio Vista Delta Breeze bus will wait up to five minutes for connecting transfers from other bus providers at major transfer points (i.e. Fairfield Transportation Center, Isleton, Pittsburg/Bay Point BART Station, Hillcrest Park & Ride Lot, Suisun/Fairfield Amtrak Station). The last trip of the night will wait up to 15 minutes beyond normal departure time upon request to ensure that all passengers are picked up. There are exceptions to the policy.

Bicycles

Bicycles are allowed on board all Rio Vista Delta Breeze buses. Two bicycles can be stored on the front rack. If the rack is full, the bicycle may be brought inside in the bus at the bus operator’s discretion. Riders are responsible for loading and unloading their own bicycles. SafePlace

Rio Vista Delta Breeze buses are “Safe Places”. If you are between the ages of 12 and 17 years old and you are in danger, please board a Rio Vista Delta Breeze bus and ask that you need a Safe Place. Our bus operator will help you obtain assistance from the Northern California Family Center.

Lost and Found

Should you lose an item on board a Rio Vista Delta Breeze bus, please call us at (707) 374-2878. Items are held for up to 30 days before being donated to a local charity. The City and its contractors are not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Mobility Training

We can teach you how to ride the bus. You will learn how to read a bus schedule, board at a bus stop and utilize features that are on board a bus. Emergency Ride Home

Solano Napa Commuter Information, a program of the Solano Transportation Authority provides an emergency ride home program to registered workers who use transit to get to work. To participate, you must live in Solano County and register with Solano Napa Commuter Information by calling 1-800-53KMUTE (800) 535-6883 or visit www.solanolinks.com. For those that work in Contra Costa County may contact 511 Contra Costa at (925) 969-0841 or visit www.511contracosta.org.

Route 52 takes commuters between Rio Vista and Isleton to Antioch or the Pittsburg/Bay Point BART Station. This promotion is for Contra Costa County commuters that want to avoid bridge tolls on the Antioch Bridge by taking Route 52 to any home or work destination in Contra Costa County.

Park and Ride Lot and Bicycle Lockers

Park & Ride lots provide a safe, convenient place to park your car so you can transfer to a prior-arranged carpool, vanpool or buspool or—depending on the Park & Ride lot. They’re usually free, although occasionally permits or fees may be required. Park & Ride Lot amenities and facilities vary as does the availability of security. Use common sense and good judgment when choosing a lot and securing your vehicle. Vehicle safety is neither guaranteed nor implied by the City of Rio Vista or its contractors. Passengers are fully responsible for their vehicles left at park and ride lot locations.

Lots listed on this site may be operated by government agencies, private businesses or community organizations.

We encourage you to visit the lot before using it to review any posted information and call the lot operator for overnight/extended parking restrictions.

Bicycle Lockers at the Boat Ramp
The City of Rio Vista manages bicycle lockers at two locations:  Front and Main Street in Rio Vista and Suisun City Train Depot in Suisun City. 

Rio Vista - Front and Main Streets
Four bicycle lockers are available to rent for free at the Rio Vista Boat Ramp Parking Lot on Front Street near Main Street. Just open the locker, place your bicycle inside. Lock it and go! Storage is only allowed for 24 hours.

Suisun City - Suisun City Train Depot - 177 Main Street
Electronic bicycle lockers are for shared use and are available on a first-come, first-served basis at the Suisun City Train Depot located at 177 Main Street in Suisun City. They provide secure bike parking. There is a total of 4 spaces at this location.

How electronic bicycle lockers work?
The electronic bicycle lockers provide on-demand bike parking. Purchase a smart card online at the Suisun City Train Depot at the Rio Vista Delta Breeze Information Center. Ride up to an available locker and insert your smart card into the card slot. Follow on-screen directions to put time on the meter. The cost, at 3 to 5 cents an hour, is automatically deducted from your smart card. Park your bike inside, close the door, and your bike remains secure. When you return to retrieve your bike, just insert your smart card into the slot to open the door. Unused time and value are automatically refunded back to the card.

Regional Transit Connection Discount Cards

Regional Transit Connection Card (RTC) are available from Rio Vista Delta Breeze. These cards allow seniors (age 65 years old and older) and persons with disabilities discounted fares on Rio Vista Delta Breeze and other transit operators in the San Francisco Bay Area. The cards are $3.00 and an application needs to be filled out. Once approved, a card will be mailed to you within 21 days.

RTC Discount Cards can be obtained at Rio Vista Delta Breeze's Offices located at the Rio Vista Municipal Airport, 3000 Baumann Road, Rio Vista, CA by making an appointment by calling (707) 374-2878 or emailing jandoh@ci.rio-vista.ca.us. Delta Breeze Route 51 serves this facility.

You can also get RTC cards at the Suisun/Fairfield Amtrak Station, 177 Main Street, Suisun City.

Additional Transit Services in Rio Vista

Rio Vista Delta Breeze also offers additional transit services within Rio Vista. These programs include the following:

Rio Vista Delta Breeze Taxi Scrip Program - The program provides economically priced, door-to-door transportation service exclusively to all seniors (age 65 years old or older), persons with disabilities and Medicare Cardholders that are Rio Vista residents. Service is provided from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 a.m., seven days a week, to and from any point within Rio Vista, to Isleton and destinations in anywhere in Solano County and eastern Contra Costa County (defined as Oakley, Brentwood, Byron, Antioch and Pittsburg and unincorporated areas in between) as this is the principal service area for Rio Vista Delta Breeze.  Taxi scrip will no longer be accepted other destinations outside the list above.

The intent of the Rio Vista Delta Breeze Taxi Scrip Program is to provide an additional level of transit service for seniors, persons with disabilities and Medicare Card holders when Rio Vista Delta Breeze bus service was not available, not operating or when the passenger is going to a destination that is not served by Rio Vista Delta Breeze bus or a public transportation service (i.e. BART, FAST or Yolobus). 

Taxi Scrip is available for 50% of the fares listed below. Only a limited number of taxi scrip are available per month and year and they can be purchase from the City of Rio Vista Finance Department, located at One Main Street in Rio Vista. Ride with Pride Program
This program, which is operated by Faith in Action,  provides transportation to various destinations, primarily to and from medical or social service programs.  Unlike the Caregiver Respite Program, which provides 1-to-1 transportation, this program transports several persons per vehicle, on a predetermined route.  The vehicles may be agency-owned (one 6-passenger van and one 9-passenger van) or volunteer-owned.  Volunteer dispatchers or agency staff schedule these rides.  Care recipients must be a senior who no longer drives and must be ambulatory. 

To schedule a ride, you must ensure that adequate time is given for volunteer dispatchers and/or staff to schedule a ride, those needing to get to an appointment should call 24 to 48 hours ahead. Priority is given to those needing to get to medical or social service appointments.

Depending upon the request and the availability of volunteers, persons with medical appointments in another city may be able to access the Ride with Pride Program. 

Individual recipients are requested to make a donation of $5.00 for the round trip; however, no one is turned away for lack of funds.

Solano County Intercity Taxi Scrip Program

The Solano County Intercity Taxi Scrip Program is a flexible option for qualified ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) paratransit certified riders. This service provides curb-to-curb, same day transportation for ADA paratransit certified riders who need to travel between cities within Solano County.
To be eligible, you must be:

The Intercity Taxi Scrip program is in addition to paratransit services available by public transit providers throughout Solano County. This program is not available for trips between Fairfield and Suisun City.

ADA certified passengers living within Solano County may purchase the new taxi scrip booklet for $15.00. The booklet is valued at $100.00. To buy the scrip and use this new service you will need to obtain an ADA Photo ID card from Rio Vista Delta Breeze as long as you are certified ADA. Intercity taxi scrips are available for sale at the Suisun/Fairfield Amtrak Station, 177 Main Street, Suisun City, CA 94585 and Rio Vista City Hall, 1 Main Street, Rio Vista, CA 94571.

Rio Vista Delta Breeze transit service in conjunction with Greyhound Lines, Inc sells tickets and provide Greyhound Package Express shipping services in Suisun City at the Suisun/Fairfield Amtrak Station, 177 Main Street, Suisun City. In addition, passengers at Suisun/Fairfield Amtrak Station can receive transit route, fare and schedule information about Amtrak, Capitol Corridor, Fairfield and Suisun Transit (FAST), Vallejo Transit, Rio Vista Delta Breeze and other Solano County Transportation options and alternatives. Additionally, passengers can purchase Clipper cards, Rio Vista Delta Breeze tickets and passes, Daily Republic newspapers, FasTrak transponders, Regional Transit Connection (RTC) Discount cards for seniors and persons with disabilities and certify for ADA paratransit services and taxi scrip programs offered by Rio Vista Delta Breeze.
