Rio Vista Delta Breeze Taxi Scrip Program is Suspended as of January 1, 2012

Due to lack of business demand, Hyphy Cab as suspended operations in the City of Rio Vista. As a result, the Rio Vista Delta Breeze Taxi Scrip Program is suspended. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause. Those with RTC Discount Cards may continue to use those cards for discounts on public transportation providers in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Notice of Public Hearing Request for Comment on the South County Transit Link Short Range Transit Plan Amendment

The Sacramento County Department of Transportation and City of Galt will hold a public hearing to review the South County Transit Link Short Range Transportation Plan (SRTP) Amendment. The hearing will be held at 5:30 p.m., January 24, 2012, at Galt City Hall-Council Chambers, 380 Civic Drive, Galt, CA. The Amendment is an update of the 2008 SRTP transit plan for fiscal years 2008/09 through 2012/13.

Copies of the Amendment will be available online beginning December 9, 2011 at http://www.ci.galt.ca.us/index.aspx, or can be requested by e-mailing dmartinez@ci.galt.ca.us or by calling (209) 366-7288. In addition, copies are available at the Galt Public Library and Isleton City Hall. Please comment in writing to the above address or offer testimony in person during the public hearing. Please direct your written comments to Dolores Martinez. Written comments are welcome through 5 p.m., January 23, 2012.

Volunteer with Faith in Action

As each of you knows, the increase of the need for assistance from the elderly in our community continues to grow every day. Recent reports show that more and more of our seniors struggle more and more to make ends meet - - even to the point of going to bed hungry. Faith in Action is one of a handful of non-profits providing "FREE services" to seniors residing in our communities throughout Solano County. With the increase in need out in our communities, there is a great need to bring on additional volunteers. Faith in Action is now in Rio Vista and they need assistance. New Taxi Cab Operation in Rio Vista - Welcome Hyphy Cab!

Hyphy Cab has started taxicab operations in the City of Rio Vista and to other destinations outside the City. Hours of operation are seven days a week from 7 am to 7 pm.

As a result, the Rio Vista Delta Breeze Taxi Scrip Program is back in operation for seniors (age 55 years old or older) and persons with disabilities. An application is required to participate in this program.

City of Suisun Request For Proposal to Lease Space at Suisun City Train Depot

The City of Suisun City is seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial-minded operator who can provide café (or similar) services at the Suisun City Train Station. This unique location has a number of advantages over the typical café food service location. It is easily accessible from the Central County Bikeway, which connects the City from end to end; it is positioned at the only Capitol Corridor commuter rail service stop in Solano County; serves as a multi-modal transit hub for Solano County with regular Greyhound stops; it is within a 10-minute walk from the Solano County Administrative Building and within walking distance of the scenic Suisun City Promenade. Additionally, the Train Station is adjacent to a popular park-n-ride lot and is visible to passing cars on Main Street which offers a vast pool of potential customers.
